HC Deb 19 January 1970 vol 794 c43W
Mr. Simon Mahon

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many handicapped children are in need of day school educational provision in Bootle; and what further school building he has approved for them in the immediate future.

Miss Bacon

Twenty-two physically handicapped children in the County Borough of Bootle are regarded as needing day school educational provision: of these, six are being educated at home, and 16 in normal day schools. My right hon. Friend has included in the building programme for 1970–71 a first instalment of a day special school which will cater for 70 to 80 physically handicapped and delicate children from Bootle and surrounding areas.
