HC Deb 19 January 1970 vol 794 c18W
73. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when the convention providing that hijacking of aircraft should be an offence in contracting states and should be treated as an extraditable offence will take effect.

Mr. Luard

The draft Convention is to be considered by the Legal Committee of the International Civil Aviation Organisation in March who will refer it to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation and it is likely to be presented to an international diplomatic conference in the autumn. The Convention will take effect when it has been adopted by the Conference and ratified by the requisite number of States.
