The figures for the needs element of rate support grants are the amounts after deduction of the proportion to be transferred to the Greater London Council—one-ninth for 1967–68 and 40 per cent. for 1968–69, 1969–70 and 1970–71. The transfer of a greater proportion of grant to the Greater London Council is reflected in a reduction in that Council's precept.
No account is taken of the effects of Rate Equalisation Schemes.
