The school meals and milk grant, which was superseded by the rate support grant in 1967–68, was formerly paid to the Inner London Education Authority.

The figures for the needs element of rate support grants are the amounts after deduction of the proportion to be transferred to the Greater London Council—one-ninth for 1967–68 and 40 per cent. for 1968–69, 1969–70 and 1970–71. The transfer of a greater proportion of grant to the Greater London Council is reflected in a reduction in that Council's precept.

No account is taken of the effects of Rate Equalisation Schemes.
