§ Mr. Fisherasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will reduce or discontinue for the time being the immigration of people from India, in order to allow a proportionate number of United Kingdom citizens of Indian birth to enter Great Britain from East Africa.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThe Government will continue to keep under review the numbers of employment vouchers available for different parts of the Commonwealth, within the permitted total. As has been made clear on a number of occasions, it is not the intention to prevent dependants from joining Commonwealth citizens who are settled here.
