§ Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will 352W now seek to institute an independent inquiry into the effects of loans to students or post-graduates, with particular reference to whether they are likely to lead to a more or less efficient use of educational resources, whether they tend to shortern or prolong the time students spend at universities, and whether they inflict hardship or impair the educational chances of students.
§ Mr. FowlerI do not regard this as an issue which can best be resolved by an inquiry of this kind.
