HC Deb 25 February 1970 vol 796 c351W
101. Mr. Willey

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his estimate of the number of teachers required to provide for classes with a maximum of thirty children in maintained primary and secondary schools.

Miss Bacon

No useful estimate can be made. The size of classes depends on the availability of premises and the deployment of teachers in each school as well as on the national supply.
