§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will make a statement concerning the industrial dispute at the Ford Motor Company.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerSome 4,500 employees at Swansea and Halewood are on strike over the current pay negotiations. The T.G.W.U. has accepted the company's pay offer and is recommending a resumption of work but the A.E.F. has deferred a decision pending consideration by a delegate conference today. The company has warned that continuance of the strike may lead to considerable lay-offs by the end of the week. I am, of course, keeping in touch with developments.
