§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the President of the Board of Trade by what authority he proposes to intervene to prevent the proprietors of the Daily Telegraph newspaper from increasing the price of that newspaper by any amount which may seem to them, in the light of their knowledge of the industry, to be appropriate, during 1970 or 1971.
§ Mr. MasonThe N.B.P.I.'s assessment for 1970, which the Government have accepted, was that an increase of more than ld. in the price of theDaily Telegraph would not be justified. I would expect to receive prior notification of any further increase and would consider this on its merits in the light of the prices and incomes policy in operation at the time.
