HC Deb 18 February 1970 vol 796 cc145-6W
Mr. William Edwards

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many forms, documents and circulars, etc. have been published by his department in the Welsh language since the passing of the Welsh Language Act, to the latest convenient date.

Mr. Edward Short

Eight Welsh versions of forms have been made available. The Report of the Central Advisory Council for Education (Wales) on Primary Education in Wales (Addysg Gynradd Yng Nghymru) was published in Welsh as well as English. Pamphlet No. 2 Education in Wales (Addys Yng Nghymru) 1847 to 1947 has been reprinted in bilingual form. Four Wales Circulars (1/68, 1/69, 2/69 and 3/69) have been issued in bilingual form; also an explanatory leaflet on school meals and the leaflet "Facts about decimal currency".

The Schools Council Committee for Wales has published "Notes for Teachers on Decimalisation" ("Y dull deg") and "Welsh in Education: Facing the Future" ("Y Gymraeg Mewn Addysg: Wynebu'r Dyfodol").
