asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the retail cost per pound, at current prices, of first quality pork undercut or fillet.

Mr. Hoy

No figures are available of the current prices of either pork undercut or fillet; figures are available for loin of pork, the latest being the average price for December 1969 which was 6s. 6d. per lb. according to information from the General Index of Retail Prices.

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the retail cost per pound, at current prices, of rump and fillet steak, respectively.

The average price of home-killed rump steak on 16th December, 1969, the latest date for which prices are available, was 10s. 9d. per lb., according to information from the General Index of Retail Prices, which is collected by the Department of Employment and Productivity from about 900 retailers in 200 areas in the United Kingdom. Prices are not collected for fillet steak.
