Mr. Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give details of the offer made by the management side of the Scottish Teachers' Salaries Committee on 6th February, showing the increases involved for each category of primary and secondary teachers.

The Management Side's offer represents an increase of 11 per cent. (£7.8 million) in the present total cost of teachers' salaries. I understand that
