HC Deb 17 February 1970 vol 796 c93W
Mr. Hugh D. Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what advice is given by his Department to the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee with regard to informing hon. Members of its work and of its intention to publish reports;

(2) on what date he received the report by the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee, "Council House Communities: A Policy for Progress";

(3) what was the cost to public funds of the report by the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee, "Council House Communities: A Policy for Progress";

(4) what action he proposes to take on the report by the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee, "Council House Communities: A Policy for Progress".

(5) if he accepts the recommendation of the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee to cut back the rate of new house-building in order to devote more resources to remedial work in existing council housing schemes; and if he will discuss with the Corporation of Glasgow its policy of cutting back on new houses and not carrying out remedial work in existing schemes;

(6) how many visits were made to the constituency of the hon. Member for Glasgow, Provan, by members of the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee for the purpose of their report, "Council House Communities: A Policy for Progress"; on what dates such visits were made, and by how many members; and with whom they consulted.

Mr. Ross

I am writing to my hon. Friend about these matters.
