§ Mr. John SilkinThe number of construction workers wholly unemployed in Great Britain in January 1970 was 135.6 thousand. In addition there were 3.6 thousand temporarily stopped, making a total of 139.2 thousand. This is a seasonal peak, from which I would expect a fall with the approach of spring. Further improvement will depend basically on the consolidation of our improved economic position, and in particular on progress in housebuilding.
