HC Deb 17 February 1970 vol 796 c108W
Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will grant entry vouchers to the 50 British citizens who have completed their contracts of employment in Zambia, who left Kenya before the passing of the Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1968 and the Kenya Immigration Act 1967, who therefore have no right of residence in any country except the United Kingdom, and who have made applications to the High Commission in Lusaka.

Mr. Luard

I have been asked to reply to this Question.

Most of the persons concerned have submitted applications for special vouchers which will be issued when their turn comes. One has already been granted a voucher. The majority would appear to be under no immediate pressure to leave Zambia.
