HC Deb 16 February 1970 vol 796 cc1-2W
26 and 27. Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (1) if, in order to counter the spread of television aerials, he will give a general direction to the Post Office Board to extend the availability of Post Office master aerial systems to London and other major towns and cities;

(2) if he will give a general direction to the Post Office Board to make pushbutton telephone facilities available to the general public and thus enable all subscribers to obtain computer-processed in- formation and pay bills with ready punched cards by telephone through telephone-computer push-button linkages.

Mr. Pentland

It is for the Post Office to plan future telecommunication services, including the development and provision of new facilities.
