§ 36. Mr. Wellbelovedasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what medium-wave frequencies are available to the United Kingdom under international agreement; and to what extent these will be used in the local radio service to be established by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
§ Mr. StonehouseThe European Broadcasting Convention 1948 assigned 13 medium frequencies for the use of the United Kingdom, either exclusively or shared with one or more other countries. In addition, two international common frequencies may also be used at low power. With permission, I will publish a list of the frequencies in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The medium frequency support for local radio will be confined to these frequencies.
