Earl of Dalkeithasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will publish a list showing an analysis of the main trades and professions of the 6,703 persons registered as unemployed on 1st January, 1970, in the area covered by the Edinburgh, Leith and Portobello employment exchanges.
§ Mr. DellA detailed occupational analysis of the numbers of adults regis-430W tered as wholly unemployed is available for December, 1969, but not for January, 1970. At 8th December, 1969 there were 5,817 persons registered as unemployed in the area covered by the Edinburgh, Leith and Portbello Employment Exchanges. Of these, 5,665 were adults registered as wholly unemployed. The following tabel shows an analysis of their main occupations:
