HC Deb 11 February 1970 vol 795 c342W
Mr. J. E. B. Hill

asked the Lord President of the Council how many closed circuit television sets, announcing the business in the Commons Chamber, there are in the Palace of Westminster and ancillary buildings; and what is the estimated cost of adding a digital clock to the central annunciator so that the correct time can be shown, as well as the business, on all screens.

Mr. Peart

There are 138 23 inch, and 262 11 inch closed circuit television sets installed in the Palace of Westminister and ancillary buildings, making a total of 400. The estimated cost of adding a digital clock to be shown on these sets is £75 per annum for rent and maintenance. There is no capital cost.

As I have informed the hon. Member, a digital clock is to be added to the annunciator in the near future.
