§ Mr. Merlyn ReesCommonwealth citizens subject to immigration control who are refused admission to the United Kingdom are detained under power contained in the First Schedule to the Commonwealth Immigrants Act, 1962, pending further examination or the giving of removal directions. There is at present no formal appeal procedure, but representations received from or on behalf of a passenger are fully considered.
