HC Deb 09 February 1970 vol 795 c245W
67. Mr. Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the position of people continuing in full-time employment after retirement age as to the amount of sickness benefit to which they are entitled under his regulations when off work through ill health.

Mr. O'Malley

It is a long-established rule that sickness benefit should not exceed flat-rate retirement pension to which the person concerned would have been entitled if he had retired at pension age.
