HC Deb 09 February 1970 vol 795 cc274-5W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT details showing total school roll, sex and local authority area of each single sex school he has approved in his plans for the reorganisation of secondary education.

Mr. Ross

Approved proposals include a number of single sex schools some of which will eventually become co-educational. Details are as follows (present rolls are quoted since in the case of some of the schools the eventual reorganisation envisages integration of the schools in new educational units):

having identification numbers attached to policemen's raincoats in the light of complaints made by members of the public following the Springbok Rugby match at Murrayfield on 6th December last; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

It is already the practice in the majority of Scottish forces for identification numbers to be attached to policemen's raincoats. I asked chief constables to review their policy and they have now agreed that this practice should be adopted by all forces.
