§ 59. Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he intends to give further financial assistance to the National Council for the Unmarried Mother and her Child when the current grant expires in 1970.
§ Mr. CrossmanI have decided to increase the Council's present grant of £5,000 a year to £15,000 a year for each of the next three years. I hope that this will enable them to develop their important and valuable work of providing assistance to individual mothers and of improving the social position of unmarried mothers and their children in general.
