Mr. MacArthur

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the value of the 1970 to 1972 school building programme, originally proposed by each local education authority, and what in each case is the value of the allocation so far made.

I would refer the hon. Member to the answers I gave to the hon. Members for Ayr (Mr. Younger) and Glasgow, Hillhead (Mr. Galbraith) on 26th January and the hon. Member for Edinburgh, North (Earl of Dalkeith) on 28th January.—[Vol. 794, c. 267; Vol. 794, c. 268; Vol. 794, c. 355.] Education authorities were not asked to submit estimates of their total school building requirements. In addition to Ayrshire, Glasgow and Edinburgh, however, most authorities sent me proposed programmes in varying degrees of detail. The available information is as follows:
