§ Mr. Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what new allowances he is providing for members of local 222W authorities to compensate them for loss of earnings, etc.; when he proposes to instruct local authorities to pay these allowances; and from what date they will be retrospective.
§ Mr. RossI refer my hon. Friend to the Local Government (Financial Allowance) (Scotland) Regulations 1970 and the Local Government (Travelling Allowances, etc.) (Scotland) Regulations 1970, which were laid before the House on 4th February and come into force today.
