§ 94. Sir G. Nabarroasked the Attorney-General how many prosecutions are pending, and how many have been instituted, in the period from 1968 to the present date in respect of obscene pornographic publications.
The Attorney-GeneralDuring the period from 1st January, 1968, to 31st January, 1970, 82 prosecutions were completed in respect of obscene or indecent publications. The Director of Public Prosecutions has instituted proceedings, which have not been completed, in a further 14 cases; and has advised the police to prosecute in another 23 cases, the results of which are not yet known. These figures do not include forfeiture cases.
