HC Deb 05 February 1970 vol 795 c181W
83. Mr. Thorpe

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when his Department will review the charges payable for public music and dancing licences issued under the Public Health Acts Amendment Act, 1890; and whether he will consider introducing legislation to provide concessionary rates for halls used or owned by charitable organisations.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

My right hon. Friend is willing to re-examine the level of these charges. The legislation envisaged in the second part of the Question would involve a comprehensive review of the law, and I regret that there is no immediate prospect of this.
