§ Mr. HattersleyThe General Officer Commanding, Northern Ireland, gives orders to the Ulster Constabulary by virtue of the Directive appointing him Director of Operations. This was founded on the agreement, reached between the96W Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of Northern Ireland on 19th August, 1969, to place the Ulster Special Constabulary under the G.O.C.'s control. Disciplinary matters are the responsibility of the Inspector General of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
