HC Deb 03 February 1970 vol 795 c76W
83. Sir Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what is the existing machinery to ensure the enforcement of building regulations with regard to fire precautions; whether he is satisfied that they are properly observed; and what action he proposes to take in this matter.

Mr. Freeson

The building regulations, including those relating to structural fire precautions, are enforced by local authorities, under Part II of the Public Health Act, 1961. I believe fire regulations are properly observed and enforced, but if the hon. Member will send me particulars of cases on which he has doubts, I shall be glad to look into them.
