§ 75. Mr. Marksasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he will raise family allowances at least to a level that will enable him to abolish the wage stop, so as to provide an incentive to work.
§ Mr. O'MalleyWe have no plans at present for an increase in family allowances. In any case, so far as the wage-stop is concerned, only one in 150 of the families benefiting from such an increase would be a family affected by the wage-stop, and there would be no help for wage-stopped families not receiving family allowances.
