HC Deb 02 February 1970 vol 795 cc12-3W
Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the names of those British subjects known to the Foreign Office to have been killed, physically assaulted, imprisoned with or without trial, or compelled to leave foreign countries over the past two years, together with a brief description of the circumstances of each case.

Mr. Luard

No. It is against normal practice to divulge information of this nature without the consent of the individual concerned, or of his next of kin, unless it would be clearly in the public interest to do so.
