HC Deb 02 February 1970 vol 795 cc22-3W
88. Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on his official visit to Baddesley Ensor on Friday 30th January.

Mr. Crossman

I received a petition from the villagers of Baddesley Ensor urging me to ensure that there should be a resident doctor in the village. I explained that while no doctor would be prevented from practising there if he wished, the Executive Council did not advise this, and that in any event I had no power to direct a family doctor to practise in any particular place. The Warwickshire and Solihull Executive Council who were represented at my visit, will be glad to give the villagers any advice or help they can.
