We will shortly be issuing new lists of building projects for which my right hon. Friend hopes to be able to recommend loan sanction. These will constitute the revised programme for 1970–71 and 1971–72 and will add to the programme for 1972–73.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many places, where there is adequate supervision, are available for the elderly in old people's homes in the Sheffield area; if he will express this as number per 1,000 population; and how this figure compares with that for other major cities, and the country as a whole;

(2) what is the number of places in residential homes for the elderly, which are adequately supervised, and either operated by the local authority or licensed by them, respectively, and in total in the Sheffield area; if he will express this as per 1,000 people over 65 years of age; and how this compares with that for other cities and the national average.
