HC Deb 18 December 1970 vol 808 c500W
Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will take steps to ensure that those who are vulnerable to hardship from inadequate heating are made aware of the advantages of wearing woollen garments next to the skin.

Mr. Alison

Advice to persons susceptible to cold is best given by those in direct contact with them, such as the family doctor or local authority staff. The attention of local authorities was drawn to the dangers of accidental hypothermia in a circular issued on 11th November.
