asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement on the danger caused to the Embassy car in Paris on Thursday, 10th December; for what purpose the car was being used; whether he will give the estimated costs of the repairs to this car; and whether he will make a statement.

The Embassy Rolls-Royce was accidentally caught in a street riot while carrying my right hon. Friend, the Member for Streatham (Mr. Sandys) to a meeting of the Presidential Committee of the Western European Union.

A preliminary estimate of the cost of repairing the damage to the car is put at about £1,000.
