HC Deb 17 December 1970 vol 808 cc446-7W
Q17. Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Prime Minister if, in view of his policy that it would not be in the best interests of the European Economic Community that its enlargement should take place except with the wholehearted consent of the parliaments and people of the new member countries, he will undertake a speaking tour of Great Britain to ascertain whether such approval to British entry exists in every part of the United Kingdom.

Mr. Maudling

I have been asked to reply.

No, although arrangements will continue to be made to keep Parliament and the public regularly informed of the progress of the negotiations.
