HC Deb 16 December 1970 vol 808 cc358-9W
124. Dame Irene Ward

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he intends to take to allow the County Borough of Tynemouth to make progress with the building of houses on the new York Housing Project; and why the requests to him for action by the hon. Member for Tynemouth have remained unanswered.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

The next step is the determination of the Tynemouth County Borough Council's appeal against the refusal of the Northumbrian River Authority to consent to the discharge of sewage effluent from this housing project. My hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Construction has written to the hon. Lady to this effect.
