HC Deb 16 December 1970 vol 808 c343W
98 and 99. Mr. John D. Grant

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what discussions he or his representatives have had with the London Borough of Islington on the slum clearance programme for the borough;

(2) what discussions he or his representatives have had with the London Borough of Islington on the availability of sites in the borough for both municipal and private housing development.

Mr. Channon

Officers of the Department met officers of the Council three weeks ago, when these questions were discussed, and my right hon. Friend hopes to accept the leader's invitation to a meeting shortly. I should like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the current housing performance of the Islington Council.

Mr. John D. Grant

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what consultations he or his representatives have had with the London Borough of Islington on the future housing programme for the borough;

(2) what discussions he or his representatives have had with the London Borough of Islington on the estimated contribution of housing associations to the borough's future housing needs.

Mr. Channon

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave earlier today to similar Questions.
