Mr. Dribergasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how soon he expects that the new Government offices in Horseferry Road will be complete and in occupation; what steps have been taken to make safe the rotunda damaged by an explosion some months ago; and which Departments will be housed in this block.
§ Mr. AmeryThe occupation of 2 Marsham Street by my Department is planned to start in March and to be completed during the summer. No Departments are housed in the rotunda, which is used by the Civil Service Sports Council as a recreation centre. The rotunda was not structurally damaged. Repair work is in progress, and the centre was re-opened on 7th December.
