HC Deb 16 December 1970 vol 808 cc344-5W
119. Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many tenants in furnished accommodation who have applied to a rent tribunal for the second time for a further extension of their security of tenure have not, for each of the last five years, been granted this second extension.

Mr. Amery

In the 18 months April 1969—September 1970, 650 tenants in England and Wales were refused extension of their security on a second application, against 1,385 tenants who were granted it. Figures on second applications are not available for earlier periods, nor are any figures for withdrawals of such applications.
