HC Deb 15 December 1970 vol 808 c292W
Mrs. Sally Oppenheim

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will seek powers to enable him to prohibit the sale of such items as are sold in this country that are described as useless or dangerous in the list, a copy of which has been sent to him, recently published by the United States Food and Drugs Administration.

Mr. Alison

I am informed that many of the medicinal preparations quoted are not on the market in this country but I have asked the Committee on Safety of Drugs to review the list and to advise me whether any action is required. Adequate powers already exist in the Medicines Act.
