§ Mr. Redmondasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that young people are now considered to be mature at the age of 18 years instead of 21 years, he will consider taking steps to lower the legal age of responsibility for children.
§ Mr. CarlisleIf my hon. Friend is referring to the age of criminal responsibility, my right hon. Friend does not think that the lowering of the age of majority to 18 provides grounds for altering this.
