HC Deb 14 December 1970 vol 808 c236W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many representations he has received under the Trade Descriptions Act relating to alleged misrepresentation in holiday brochures; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ridley

About a hundred letters were received during 1970 referring to the possibility that statements in holiday brochures may have contravened the Trade Descriptions Act. The duty of enforcing the Act rests upon local weights and measures authorities, to whom complainants have been re-directed.
