HC Deb 10 December 1970 vol 808 c174W
Mr. Woodhouse

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions in the last 10 years boys under 17 years of age have been committed to Oxford Prison on remand before being sent to Borstal institutions.

Mr. Carlisle

The numbers of boys under 17 held before sentence in Oxford prison and subsequently sentenced to borstal training were 8 in 1968 and 12 in 1969. I regret that the information for earlier years could not be obtained without disproportionate expense.
