HC Deb 03 December 1970 vol 807 c433W
44. Mr. Moate

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the maximum number of police officers engaged at any one time in the removal of parked vehicles in the Metropolitan Police Area; and what is the total parking capacity of the official pounds used in connection with this purpose.

Mr. Sharples

During a recent six-day week, the average number of police officers principally employed on these duties at any one time was about 27, and of civilian staff 19. The pounds regularly used hold about 860 vehicles.
