HC Deb 03 December 1970 vol 807 c429W
26. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he is taking to reorganise the emergency services in a way which will enable volunteers to play a full part.

Mr. Sharples

I have nothing to add to the reply which I gave to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Bridgwater (Mr. Tom King) on 19th November).—[Vol. 806, c. 465.]

53. Sir D. Renton

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he proposes to take to acknowledge the efforts made by members of voluntary civil aid societies and others who have, at their own expense, continued to train for emergencies since the Civil Defence Corps and the Auxiliary Fire Service were disbanded.

Mr. Maudling

I am aware of the valuable work done by many voluntary organisations.
