HC Deb 03 December 1970 vol 807 cc449-50W
71. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of State for Defence how many new recruits have been obtained for the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders as a result of the special recruitment campaign; what was the total cost of the campaign; and whether he intends to continue it.

Mr. Ian Gilmour

The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders have attracted 23 recruits to the Scottish Division since the regiment started recruiting again last September. This achievement was comparable with that of the other regiments of the Division which will continue its recruiting efforts. Expenditure on recruiting publicity is not apportioned to individual regiments.
