HC Deb 02 December 1970 vol 807 c375W
14. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much of the £1½ million provided for a special winter works programme has been allocated; and how many extra jobs he expects to result.

Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many additional jobs will be provided by the winter work programme.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

All but £100,000 of the programme of accelerated essential works has now been allocated. The employment effects are hard to assess precisely but the programme should produce a worthwhile number of additional jobs this winter.
