HC Deb 02 December 1970 vol 807 cc375-6W
15. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many hospital building projects are currently behind schedule; what are the main causes of the delays; and what steps he is taking to remedy the situation.

Mr. Edward Taylor

No hospital building at present under construction is significantly behind schedule except Nine-wells Hospital, Dundee, where the contractual completion date is currently the subject of arbitration.

Out of 19 major schemes which regional hospital boards were authorised to start in 1970–71, 12 have started, four should start before the end of the financial year and three smaller schemes may be deferred until 1971–72 for planning reasons.
