§ Mr. Mulleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now give details of the proposed new central authority for ports, and the sum he expects to make available for grants for ports modernisation in 1971–72.
§ Mr. PeytonA study of the needs and problems of the ports industry is being carried out and decisions on the right framework for the future must await its completion. I have no proposals for a new central authority for ports. As my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer indicated on 27th October, the future of the port modernisation grant scheme is under review.
