74. Lieut.-Colonel Colin Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is aware of the plight of the paper industry in Aberdeenshire as a result of the increases in fuel oil costs since June of this year; and if he will take appropriate action.
§ Mr. RidleySome paper mills in the Aberdeen area have been affected by higher fuel oil prices this year; but fuel costs represent a relatively small part of the total costs of the paper industry, and the negotiation of prices is a matter between supplier and consumer.
